"Thanksgiving" Tournament Rules
UMPIRE'S JUDGMENT IS FINAL.
Any abuse WHATSOEVER of an official will not be tolerated.  If you bitch, you will be tossed.
Umpires will have an UMPIRE CARD on which both teams will fill out their starting line-up.
Subs can be added to the line-up card at any time during the game.
The umpire will keep the score inning by inning on BOTH SIDES of the UMPIRE CARD.
At the end of the game the WINNING team will turn this card in to the tournament committee.
This card, and only this card, will be accepted as the game result.  No scoresheets are
to be turned it.  Keep them.  All that is to be turned in is the UMPIRE CARD.
ALL INNINGS ARE OPEN.  60-MINUTE LIMIT ON ALL GAMES.
No inning can start after the time limit is reached - umpire's judgment.
GIRLS MAY BUNT.  They cannot however, fake a bunt and swing away.
If a girls does fake a bunt and swings away (hitting the ball fair).  Time will be
called, the play is dead, the batter is EJECTED for dangerous play.
TEAMS CAN BAT 12 (ONE EXTRA OF EACH) and TEAMS CAN SET
THEIR BATTING ORDER ANY WAY THAT THEY WISH.
NO RESTRICTION ON THE NUMBER OF GUYS IN A ROW.
NO INFIELD BALLS AT ALL AFTER THE 1st INNING.
MERCY RULE IS AS FOLLOWS - 20 after 3rd, 15 after 4th, 10 after 5th or 6th.
HOME TEAM DOES NOT BAT JUST FOR THE SAKE OF RUNS.
START GAMES PROMPTLY.  LET'S STAY ON TIME.
KEEP TEAMS HUSTLING ON AND OFF THE FIELD.
If teams don't hustle the umps will end the pitcher's warm-up + call the batter.
IF A TEAM IS REDUCED TO 9 PLAYERS FOR WHATEVER REASON,
INCLUDING EJECTION, the game will go on with an automatic out.
Runners going home will run to the 2nd HOME PLATE.
BIG BALL/SMALL BALL FOR ALL GAMES.
BALLS - RETRIEVING
You are required to go an get your errant balls - fouls, home runs… send someone.
YOU CANNOT "RUN" A DEFENSIVE PLAYER AT ANYTIME.
If you do, you'll be tossed.  We all have to go back to work when it's over.
COURTESY RUNNERS ARE UNLIMITED AT FIRST BASE,
at 2nd & 3rd only if they hurt themselves on the play in question.
3 & 1 up homerun rule is in effect.
McGirr Elementary is a ground rule double on a ball that rolls or bounces into the obstructions.
IF A MALE WALKS, with a female following in the order, regardless of the count,
he gets a double and she has the OPTION to bat or take first.
UNIFORM RULE is in effect.  If one team has matching jerseys and the other
team does not, then the matching team will have option of home/visitors.
ANTI-SANDBAGGING RULES:
Pitcher/catcher CANNOT both be MALE.
Teams cannot, without prior approval from the tournament committee, play 6+4 or 5+5 at any
time in the round robin or else they will have to play that way for the remainder of the event.
PROTESTS MUST BE DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make decisions in the best interest of the tournament as a whole.
