(Honolulu, Hawai’i) Game 3 of the Diamond Head Classic will see Utah play Butler. Game time will be 6:00 p.m. HST on Wednesday December 22, 2010.

Utah and Butler match up on paper as what should be the best game of Day 1 of the Diamond Head Classic. Let the fun begin!

The Utes boast the biggest line-up in the event with a 7’ 3”, 7’ 0”, 6’ 10” and six more players that are 6’ 7” or bigger. Quite an impressive line-up – as far as height is concerned.

The game started out well with the teams going toe-to-toe for the first 7 ½ minutes. Then with 12:32 to go and the score 15-14 for the Utes, Butler started a 23-7 run to go up 37-22.

HALF-TIME – Butler sitting on a nice lead of 40-27.

The Utes are shooting themselves in the foot a little too much as their turnover count is 2-1 to that of Butler.

Second half starts with a nice effort by Utah to close the lead to seven.

Butler has pushed there lead back to 10 and is keeping Utah at arm’s length – a strong late game push will be needed if Utah wants to win this one.

Butler has now stretched their lead back to 13 at 60-47.

Time is starting to run out for the much needed Utah surge.

Just under 5 to go – Butler up 11

Under 4 to go – Utah continues to close the gap – now Butler by 9.

3:45 to go – TV Time-out

After the TO – Utah goes 1 for 2 from the line – 8-point game – Butler 63-55

1:58 to go – Butler up 10

1:11 to go – Butler up 12

Teams trading points but Utah is not closing the 10-point gap.
