(Honolulu, Hawai’i)  Game 6 (semi-final #1) of the Diamond Head Classic will see the winners of games 1, Washington State, and 2, Baylor, play.  Game time will be 1:30 p.m. HST on Thursday December 23, 2010.

First 4 minutes have gone by and both teams are going toe-to-toe with Washington State holding the edge at 10-8.

Guessing on fouls happens by refs everywhere (nature of the beast) – tough to watch sometimes.

Thompson with another drive and dish for another dunk (this time by Marcus Capers) – late call for a Baylor foul on the WSU dunk – lots of bad feelings expressed after the whistle.  Foul called on Baylor’s Fred Ellis – his first.  Refs still working on sorting out the extra curricular activity.  Double foul called for the pushing after the whistle.

 

Capers misses the foul shot but WSU’s #31 Abe Lodwick gets 2 on the tip-in.

4:44 – Baylor finally scores!  Quincy Acy with a strong move under the hoop for 2.

Tough to stay in games when you go for nearly four minutes without scoring a single point.

 

3:53 – Baylor is shooting 26.1% from the floor going 6-23.  They are 0-10 from the 3-point line.  The only highlight is that they are 9-10 from the foul-line.  WSU on the other hand is 13-24 from the field for a shooting percentage of 54.2% (5-8 from behind the arc, 62.5%)

Baylor had a decisive edge on the glass out-rebounding WSU 37-23 (18-5 on the offensive glass).  This is deceptive as normally such a huge difference on the offensive glass would be good.  The problem here is that Baylor missed a total of 38 shots from the field, compare to WSU’s 21.
