(Honolulu, Hawai’i)  Game 10 of the Diamond Head Classic will see the winner of game 5, Ole Miss (9-2), playing the winner of game 7, University of Hawai'i (6-4).  Game time is scheduled for either 9:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. HST on Tuesday December 25, 2012.  Merry Christmas!

 

Note - if Hawai'i is involved in this game - it will be played at 11:30 a.m. and Game 9 will be at 9:00 a.m.

 

Manroop Clair gets his first start in university career!

 

Hawai'i is struggling to get into the high-temp transition game - the result is some ugly forced shots, both inside and out.

 

7:00 in and it's 14-7 for Ole Miss. 

 

12:00 in and it's not looking good for Hawai'i as they are down 25-9 as Ole Miss makes use of the 3-point line.

 

5:43 to go and it's 27-13 for Ole Miss.  Hawai'i is not looking good in the first-half of this one.  Ole Miss is getting open looks from everywhere and Hawai'i is being challenged on every shot.

 

Hawai'i with a sweet high-low for a strong bucket inside - Hawai'i with back-to-back buckets closes it to a 1o-point game at 27-17.

 

Clair drains the first three of the game for Hawai'i.

 

Hawai'i goes high-low again for an easy two.

 

2:44 to go - Ole Miss lead cut to five at 29-24.

1:18 - Old Miss lead to one - 29-28

 

:29.7 - Hawai'i takes the lead by dropping two at the foul-line.

 

End of 1st half and Hawai'i has come all the way back and taken a 1-point lead at 30-29.

 

Teams trade buckets to start the 2nd half.

 

Clair penetrates hard, draws the pressure, dumps the ball off for an easy assist.

 

6:30 into the 2nd half and Hawai'i holds a 2-point lead at 44-42.

 

13:07 left in the 2nd - Hawai'i called for the flagrant foul - 2-and-the-ball for Ole Miss... made them both... game is tied at 44.

 

Teams trade buckets - Clair answers for Hawai'i with sweet trey - game tied again at 49.

 

Hawai'i is running a box-and-one.  Manroop Clair draws the assignment of the 'one' going up against Ole Miss' Marshall Henderson.

 

7:09 to go - 10 lead changes as the team battle hard.  Hawai'i leads 58-57.

 

Hawai'i still running the box-and-one with Clair shutting Henderson down.

 

5:02 - Hawai'i up 62-61.

 

3:55 - Ole Miss up 63-62.  Reginald Buckner fouls out for Old Miss.  Isaac Fotu going to the line for Hawai'i.

 

2:15 - Ole Miss on a 10-1 run and they are up 69-63.

 

Ole Miss starting to run away with it as Hawai'i is turning it over a lot as the clock runs down.

 

Ole Miss on a 14-1 run.

 

1:05 - Ole Miss firmly in control 73-65.

 

Hawai'i battled hard but could not close it out when they had their chances.  Turnovers just killed Hawai'i.

 

Final score is 81-66.

BC's Manroop Clair finished the game with 6 points - all from behind on the arc - going 2-8 from the field (2-7 from the three).  Clair's treys are the only two that Hawai'i made.  The team as a whole shot 2-16 from downtown.  Clair also finished with five boards, a steal, an assist and five turnovers.
